Where are my Veeam backups stored?

We configure backups to be stored in multiple locations for maximum protection. That typically includes a local copy on-site for fast restores and an offsite copy in a secure Australian data centre. This means your data is protected even if your office is affected by fire, flood, or theft.

How long does it take to restore data from Veeam?

Individual files and emails can usually be restored within minutes. Full server restores depend on the size of the environment, but Veeam is built for speed and most businesses are back up and running within hours rather than days. We test restore times regularly so there are no surprises when it matters.

What is an immutable backup?

An immutable backup is a copy of your data that cannot be changed, encrypted, or deleted, even by an administrator or ransomware that has compromised your network. Veeam supports immutable backups so that even in a worst-case ransomware scenario, your business has a clean copy of its data that attackers cannot touch.

How often are Veeam backups run?

That depends on your business requirements. Most of our clients run daily backups as a minimum, with critical systems backed up multiple times per day. We configure the schedule based on how much data your business can afford to lose between backups, known as your recovery point objective.

Does Microsoft back up my Microsoft 365 data?

No. Microsoft provides infrastructure uptime but does not back up your emails, files, or SharePoint data on your behalf. If something is deleted, encrypted by ransomware, or lost due to a user error, Microsoft cannot recover it beyond a short retention window.
